Huge second-half propels Nevada-Las Vegas past George Washington
Dec 1, 2007 - 3:07 AM NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana (Ticker) -- Sequoia Holmes had 25 points, eight rebounds and seven steals as Nevada-Las Vegas overcame a 24-point halftime deficit to defeat No. 14 George Washington, 62-61, in the Lady Privateer Invitational on Friday.Shamela Hampton added 13 points for UNLV (2-4), which shot just 25 percent (5-of-20) in the first half and trailed, 40-16, at the break.
However, the Runnin' Rebels outscored George Washington, 46-21, after intermission and made 17-of-28 shots (61 percent) from the floor.
Sarah-Jo Lawrence had 22 points to lead the Colonials (5-3), who have lost two straight and made just 6-of-29 shots (28 percent) from the floor in the second half.
