Wiggins scores 21 points as Stanford stops New Mexico
Dec 19, 2007 - 4:02 AM ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico (Ticker) -- Candice Wiggins scored five of her six field goals from the 3-point stripe and finished with 21 points as No. 4 Stanford posted a 73-54 victory over New Mexico on Tuesday.Jayne Appel had 18 points and eight rebounds and Kayla Pederson had 13 and 8 for the Cardinal (9-1), who shot 48 percent (28-of-58) from the floor and held a 38-29 edge on the boards.
Wiggins took 10 shots from the arc and added six rebounds, six assists and three steals. Appel was 8-of-14 from the floor.
Amy Beggin scored 10 points for New Mexico (7-4), which shot just 39 percent (22-of-56).
