Six players hit double figures as Old Dominion downs VCU
Jan 18, 2008 - 5:18 AM NORFOLK, Virginia (Ticker) -- No. 20 Old Dominion used a balanced attack and a sharp second half to cruise past Virginia Commonwealth and stay undefeated in the Colonial Athletic Association with an 86-66 triumph Thursday.Jessica Canady led the way with 15 points and Shahida Williams, Tiffany Green and Jazzmin Walters scored 12 apiece for the Lady Monarchs, who dominated the boards for a 49-37 rebounding edge.
Old Dominion (13-3, 4-0 CAA) scored 51 points in the final 20 minutes and put away the game with a 16-2 run that opened the half.
Krystal Vaughan scored 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Virginia Commonwealth (13-2, 3-1), which had its six-game winning streak snapped.
