Beck's 19 points helps George Washington cruise past Charlotte
Jan 26, 2008 - 10:55 PM WASHINGTON (Ticker) -- Kimberly Beck scored 19 points and handed out 11 assists as No. 17 George Washington posted a 76-54 Atlantic 10 Conference victory over Charlotte on Saturday.Jessica Adair scored 14 points and Sarah-Jo Lawrence had 13 and 10 rebounds for the Colonials (16-4, 4-1 A-10), who moved into a first-place tie with the 49ers (13-8, 4-1) in league play.
Beck, who connected on 7-of-13 attempts, drilled four 3-pointers to help give George Washington a 49-25 advantage at the break. It shot 44 percent (31-of-71) while holding Charlotte to 32 percent (19-of-59).
Erin Floyd scored 14 points and reserve Shannon McCallum added 10 for the 49ers, who saw their seven-game winning streak end.
