Tisdale leads Baylor to easy win over Fresno State

Mar 22, 2008 - 9:31 PM ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico (Ticker) -- Point guard Angela Tisdale scored 26 points Saturday, leading third-seeded Baylor to an 88-67 victory over No. 14 Fresno State in a Spokane Regional first-round contest.

Tisdale shot 8-of-19 from the field and 8-of-9 from the foul line for the Bears (25-6), who entered the tournament with a three-game losing streak.

Baylor, which won the national championship in 2005, will face Pittsburgh or Wyoming in Monday's second round.

Forward Rachel Allison added 21 points on 7-of-14 shooting for Baylor, which never trailed. The Bears took control early, using a 17-2 spurt to build a 27-11 lead midway through the first half.

Tierre Wilson had 23 points for Fresno State (22-11), which got no closer than 27-21 and trailed 43-28 at the intermission. The Bulldogs had won 22 of their previous 24 games.
