Orsillo helps Arizona State women to easy win
Dec 2, 2006 - 6:16 AM TEMPE, Arizona (Ticker) -- Danielle Orsillo scored 19 points off the bench to lead No. 12 Arizona State to an easy 75-53 victory over Boston University in the opening round of the ASU Classic.Briann January scored 16 points and Kirtsen Thompson added 14 for the Sun Devils (6-1), who opened a 30-20 halftime lead and cruised in the second half.
Arizona State controlled all facets of the game, shooting 42 percent (25-of-60) from the field and holding a 45-33 advantage in rebounds.
Jesyka Burks-Wiley had 11 points and 10 rebounds and Aly Hinton scored 10 points for Boston University (3-3), which shot just 36 percent (18-of-50), made 11-of-22 free throws and committed 21 turnovers.
On Saturday, Arizona State will face Northern Arizona in the championship and Boston University will meet Eastern Michigan in the consolation game.
