Davenport finishes strong as Ohio State routs Howard
Dec 17, 2006 - 10:35 PM COLUMBUS, Ohio (Ticker) -- Jessica Davenport scored 16 points to lead eighth-ranked Ohio State to a 97-52 triumph over Howard.Davenport, who had just two points at halftime, finished 8-of-13 from the floor to lead five players in double figures. The 6-5 senior center also collected six rebounds and three blocks.
Star Allen had 12 points, eight rebounds and seven assists while Brandie Hoskins scored 11 for Ohio State (9-1), which entered the break with a 51-23 lead.
Marscilla Packer and reserve Ashlee Trebilcock scored 10 points apiece for the Buckeyes, who owned a 37-22 edge on the glass and forced 30 turnovers.
Shannon Carlisle scored 18 points to pace Howard (0-11), which shot just 38 percent (21-of-55) from the floor.
