Feb 5, 2010 - 11:20 PM By BETSY BLANEY Associated Press WriterLUBBOCK, Texas(AP) -- Attorneys for fired Texas Tech coach Mike Leach and the university have held a court-ordered mediation session, though they have more talking to do.
In a court filing late Friday, mediator Frank E. Murchison said mediation had not been completed and has been recessed "pending future scheduling."
The university fired Leach on Dec. 30, two days after it suspended him amid allegations he mistreated a player with a concussion. He sued the school, alleging libel, slander and breach of contract.
State District Judge William Sowder had set Friday as a deadline when he ordered the two sides into mediation Jan. 21.
Leach has denied he mistreated the player.
- LMPtG1 Yeah, he'll do just fine. I can't wait to see what program he resurrects next. I'll be watching, for sure. I'm wishing on a star hoping that a school here in North Carolina will have an opening worthy of his talent. *crosses fingers*
