Steelers' Polamalu to miss Panthers game
Dec 23, 2010 - 1:44 AM Pittsburgh, PA (Sports Network) - Steelers safety Troy Polamalu is still nursing an ankle injury and will miss Thursday night's game against Carolina.Polamalu will sit for the second game in a row since aggravating the injury during a 45-yard interception return for a touchdown in a win over the Bengals on December 12.
Polamalu played through the injury against Cincinnati and recorded a second pick in the fourth quarter, but missed Sunday's loss to the Jets.
He has six interceptions this season, tied for second most in the NFL, and had a sack in the fourth quarter that led to a fumble and Pittsburgh's game- winning touchdown in Week 13 against Baltimore.
The Steelers are 10-4 and have already clinched a playoff berth. They are tied with the Ravens atop the AFC North.
