Chargers QB Rivers leaves with injury
Jan 13, 2008 - 8:41 PM INDIANAPOLIS (Ticker) -- San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers left Sunday's playoff game against the Indianapolis Colts with an undisclosed right knee injury.Rivers was hurt on the final play of the third quarter while throwing a 56-yard touchdown pass to Darren Sproles.
Although he did not appear to be touched on the play, Rivers landed awkwardly on his right foot and limped to the sideline.
He was taken to the locker room to have his right knee evaluated and his return is probable.
Backup Billy Volek replaced Rivers in the lineup on San Diego's next possession.
