Giants G Snee eyes MRI on shoulder

Aug 5, 2008 - 12:35 AM ALBANY, New York (Ticker) -- New York Giants right guard Chris Snee sat out practice on Monday and is expected to undergo an MRI on his sore shoulder in the near future.

Snee, who signed a six-year contract extension worth $43.5 million in June, has been experiencing discomfort with his shoulder throughout training camp.

"I don't know the whole answer yet, but it didn't seem like it would be anything serious," said Giants coach Tom Coughlin, who is also Snee's father-in-law.

Snee, 26, has started 59 of 64 games over his first four seasons since the Giants drafted him in the second round in 2004.

The 6-3 guard has made 48 consecutive regular-season starts and started all four postseason games last year, helping the Giants win the Super Bowl.
