Giants RB Ware arrested on alcohol charge
Sep 30, 2008 - 3:29 PM ATHENS, Georgia (Ticker) - New York Giants running back Danny Ware was arrested over the weekend on an alcohol charge.A spokesperson for the Athens-Clarke County Police Department confirmed that Ware was charged with pedestrian under the influence and pedestrian in the roadway following his arrest at about 2:30 a.m. EDT Sunday morning.
A former running back at Georgia, Ware was standing in the road with a female companion when a police officer drove past. The Giants had a bye last weekend.
The officer determined Ware had been drinking, and his breath test showed a blood-alcohol level of 0.152 - nearly twice the legal limit in Georgia - according to the police report.
Ware's charges are punishable by up to $344, which he can pay in advance.
