NFL fines Giants WR Burress
Oct 24, 2008 - 9:58 PM NEW YORK (Ticker) -- New York Giants receiver Plaxico Burress was fined $45,000 on Friday for three different incidents during Sunday's 29-17 victory over the San Francisco 49ers.Burress received two $20,000 fines for arguing with the referees during the game after an offensive pass interference call and for post-game comments made about the officials.
The 31-year-old Burress, who was suspended by the Giants earlier this season, also received a $5,000 penalty for tossing the football into the stands after hauling in a 6-yard touchdown reception in the third quarter.
