PITTSBURGH (Ticker) -- New York Giants receiver Plaxico Burress will not start Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but he is expected to play.
Burress reportedly missed a treatment session for a neck injury that sent him to the hospital Thursday and forced him to miss practice.
It was the latest incident in a turbulent week for Burress, who on Friday was fined $45,000 for three different incidents during last week's 29-17 victory over the San Francisco 49ers.
Burress received two $20,000 fines for arguing with the referees during the game after an offensive pass interference call and for post-game comments made about the officials.
The 31-year-old Burress, who was suspended by the Giants earlier this season, also received a $5,000 penalty for tossing the football into the stands after hauling in a 6-yard touchdown reception in the third quarter.
Despite the aforementioned suspension, Burress has made 25 catches for a club-high 341 yards and three scores this season.
