PHILADELPHIA (4-3) AT SEATTLE (2-5), 4:15 pm EST
SEATTLE (Ticker) -- The Philadelphia Eagles are a difficult team to figure out.
The Eagles seek their third straight victory Sunday when they visit the Seattle Seahawks, who could once again be without quarterback Matt Hasselbeck.
A win would give Philadelphia a 5-3 record at the midpoint of the season and in prime position to at least challenge for a wild card in the NFC. Despite being a game over .500, the Eagles are in last place in the competitive NFC East.
Still, Philadelphia's offense has been maddeningly inconsistent at times during the season.
The Eagles gained 432 yards in last week's 27-14 win over the Atlanta Falcons, including 192 yards on the ground. Still, Philadelphia was just 4-of-12 on third down conversions and scored on only two of four trips inside the red zone.
After missing two of the previous three games with an ankle injury and two broken ribs, running back Brian Westbrook returned last week and gave the Eagles a huge effort.
A huge part of Philadelphia's offense when healthy, Westbrook finished with 209 yards of total offense, rushing for a career-high 167 yards and two touchdowns. He also had six receptions for 42 yards.
"I'm blessed to be back," Westbrook said. "I believe in myself. I worked my butt off to get back. We need to get more playmakers on the field."
Andy Reid, who guided Philadelphia to an appearance in Super Bowl XXXIX, recorded his 100th career victory as Eagles coach.
Reid joined Bill Belichick, Tom Coughlin, Tony Dungy, Jeff Fisher, Mike Holmgren and Mike Shanahan as active NFL coaches with at least 100 wins.
"I happened to see that list, which was more by accident than by direction," Reid said. "It is impressive. I'm honored to be with that group. I fully understand that you can't do it by yourself. It's not a one-man show."
Philadelphia is in much better shape than the Seahawks (2-5), whose four-year reign atop the NFC West is in jeopardy. The Seahawks are two games behind the division-leading Arizona Cardinals (4-3).
Last week, Seattle snapped a three-game losing streak with a 34-13 victory over the San Francisco 49ers, but Hasselbeck is expected to miss his fourth straight game with a bulging disk in his back.
Hasselbeck told Seattle radio station KIRO that he will not need surgery, but the veteran has not been cleared to return, meaning that Seneca Wallace is in line to make his third straight start against the Eagles.
"(I ) just got a weakness in my (right) leg," Hasselbeck said during the radio interview. "Because of the disk issue in my back, that nerve is shutting off the muscles that are supposed to work in your leg."
