Giants T McKenzie arrested for DUI

Nov 14, 2008 - 8:17 PM LITTLE FALLS, New Jersey (Ticker) -- New York Giants starting right tackle Kareem McKenzie was arrested Thursday night for driving under the influence.

McKenzie, 29, was pulled over at about 9:30 p.m. EST after he cut through a Coastal Gas Station on Route 23, police said.

Administered a breathalyzer test, McKenzie was found to be over the legal limit of .08. He was arrested and had his car impounded before being released to a friend.

McKenzie has started all nine games for the defending Super Bowl champions this season and is considered their best all-around player on the offensive line.

Despite the arrest, McKenzie practiced Friday and is expected to start Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens (6-3).

"It's an error, it's a mistake," coach Tom Coughlin said Friday during his weekly radio spot on WFAN. "We're disappointed and he's disappointed. I can tell you he's going to be the hardest on himself."
