Giants WR Burress misses practice again

Nov 21, 2008 - 8:16 PM EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey (Ticker) -- With concern over Brandon Jacobs knee injury fading, the New York Giants have something new to worry about.

Star wide receiver Plaxico Burress was unable to practice for the second straight day on Friday due to a strained right hamstring and is questionable for Sunday's game at Arizona.

"(The injury) happened practicing on Wednesday, during the practice," Burress said. "It is just one of those things I guess. Things like that happen."

The Giants' leading receiver with 35 catches, 454 yards and four touchdowns, Burress spent Friday's practice session riding an exercise bike and stretching.

"(There is) nothing new except he is a little better than he was the day before," said Giants coach Tom Coughlin, when asked about Burress' status Friday. "He did some things. But it will wind up being a game-time decision, I'm sure."

Burress didn't sound overly concerned about the injury, but chose his words carefully.

"It is unfortunate that it happened, but I am in good spirits about it and it is not serious, but then again I know how these hamstring things go," he said.

There was better news regarding Jacobs, who practiced for the second straight day and listed as probable for Sunday's contest.

Jacobs was kept out of practice earlier this week due to swelling in his right knee which limited him to only two second-half carries in last week's 30-10 win over the Baltimore Ravens.

Closing in on his second straight 1,000-yard season, Jacobs is the NFL's fourth-leading rusher with 879 yards.
