Giants RB Jacobs active for Sunday night
Dec 22, 2008 - 12:54 AM EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey (Ticker) -- New York Giants running back Brandon Jacobs is active for Sunday night's important game against the Carolina Panthers.Jacobs, who missed last week's 20-8 loss at the Dallas Cowboys with an injured left knee, was listed as questionable after participating in practice on a limited basis.
The bruising back injured his knee in the Giants' 20-14 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on December 7. Jacobs has scored 12 touchdowns and rushed for 1,002 yards this season.
His return comes at a key time for the Giants (11-3), who can clinch home field throughout the playoffs with a win.
Carolina (11-3) will also clinch the top seed - and the NFC South - if it is victorious.
