Giants CB Ross out vs. Vikings

Dec 27, 2008 - 1:45 AM EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey (Ticker) -- New York Giants cornerback Aaron Ross will miss Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings due to a concussion, the team announced Friday.

In addition, the Giants listed tight end Kevin Boss (concussion, ankle) as doubtful on the injury report and running back Brandon Jacobs (knee), offensive tackle Kareem McKenzie (back) and defensive tackle Barry Cofield (knee) were questionable.

"We are going to talk to the medical people and make decisions on that," Coughlin said of the availability of his players.

"But we play every game to win. We have always believed, at this time of the year, it is important to be playing your best football. We would like to continue to do that, but we will do the right thing and the smart thing about our team."

After already clinching the top seed in the playoffs, the Giants (12-3) have nothing to gain against the Vikings (9-6), who are vying for the NFC North title.

Minnesota can clinch the division title and the third seed in the conference playoffs with a victory. But if the team loses to the Giants and the Chicago Bears (9-6) fall to the Houston Texans (7-8), the Vikings are eliminated.
