OTTAWA (Ticker) -- Chris Neil proved there is more to his game than muscle.
Neil scored a pair of goals and Jesse Winchester also tallied as the Ottawa Senators skated to a 3-1 preseason victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday.
The team enforcer, Neil erased a 1-0 deficit late in the first period, cashing in on a power play with 98 seconds remaining. Winchester put Ottawa ahead for good at 8:28 of the middle session, and Neil added insurance just over eight minutes into the third with his second goal of the night.
Neil also did what he does best, engaging in a fight with Philadelphia's Arron Asham late in the third.
Defensemen Filip Kuba and Jason Smith, who served as the Flyers' captain last season, collected two assists apiece for the Senators, while captain Daniel Alfredsson made his preseason debut after skipping the team's first two contests with a groin injury.
Martin Gerber played the entire game for Ottawa and faced just 11 shots, stopping 10. Jean-Sebastien Aubin allowed two goals on 23 shots over two periods for Philadelphia before being replaced by Maxime Ouellet, who made 10 saves.
Darroll Powe scored the lone goal for the Flyers, who rested captain Mike Richards and defenseman Kimmo Timonen.
