Lightning D Paul Ranger granted personal leave
Oct 27, 2009 - 12:16 AM TAMPA, Fla.(AP) -- Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Paul Ranger has left the team to handle a personal matter.The team granted Ranger an indefinite leave of absence Monday, saying the player will return "as soon as he is able."
Ranger missed last Saturday's game against Buffalo for a personal reason. The team did not release any more information.
Lightning general manager Brian Lawton said Ranger requested a personal leave. It was granted following discussions within the organization and further talks with the player.
Ranger has one goal and an assist in eight games this season.
