Staal Brothers arrested after wild bachelor party
Jul 25, 2007 - 8:26 PM COOK COUNTY, Minnesota (Ticker) -- Carolina Hurricanes center Eric Staal and younger brother Jordan Staal, a left wing for thePittsburgh Penguins, were arrested earlier this week after theelder Staal's bachelor party got out of hand.On Monday, both players were charged with disorderly conduct andobstructing the legal process, while Jordan, who is 18, alsowas charged with consumption of alcohol while under 21 years ofage.According to the Raleigh News and Observer, Eric Staal's agent,Rick Curran, said he expects the misdemeanor charges to bereduced or dismissed.In a statement released by the Cook County Sheriff's office, theSheriff's office received complaints about "screaming, yellingand playing loud music."After the group was warned "multiple times", it was ordered toleave by Sheriff's deputies, a Minnesota State Patrol trooperand a U.S. Border Patrol agent at 3 a.m."After leaving the property, the group gathered on Highway 61and began harassing passing motorists," the statement read.It was at that point that 14 members of the group - includingboth Staals - were arrested at approximately 4 a.m.Eric Staal, 22, had 30 goals and 40 assists last season with theHurricanes while Jordan Staal had 29 goals and 13 assists forthe Penguins.Eric Staal will be married in August.No one has shouted yet.
