Penguins D Orpik leaves Saturday's game

Oct 14, 2007 - 12:23 AM TORONTO (Ticker) -- Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Brooks Orpik left Saturday's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs in the second period after a collision with Simon Gamache.

While checking Gamache into the boards in the neutral zone, Orpik was hit in the facial area by the Toronto left wing's stick and remained on the ice for several minutes while being attended to by team trainers.

A stretcher was brought out, but Orpik left the ice under his own power.
