PITTSBURGH (Ticker) -- Detroit Red Wings left wing Tomas Holmstrom participated in Saturday morning's skate but remained questionable for Game Four of the Stanley Cup Finals against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
But after missing two days of practice due to a sore hamstring, Holmstrom sounded optimistic following the morning practice.
"I felt pretty good, so it's a game-time decision," Holmstrom told reporters. "We maybe are going to wrap it a little bit different, but it looks good.
"I felt (the hamstring) a little bit, so that was a little bit of a concern right there. But this is the best time of year, and you want to be out there."
Holmstrom, 35, suffered the injury late in the third period of Detroit's 3-2 loss in Game Three on Wednesday, when he was knocked down by Pittsburgh defenseman Hal Gill with 5:50 remaining.
Although Holmstrom, who has four goals and eight assists in 19 games this postseason, sounded ready to play Saturday, Red wings coach Mike Babcock will approach the situation more cautiously.
"(Holmstrom) did just what everyone else did," Babcock said. "He felt pretty good. He's going to come back for the game tonight, see how he feels. If he's ready to go, he's playing. If not, obviously he'll be scratched."
The Red Wings hold a two-games-to-one advantage in the best-of-seven series with the Penguins.
