TAMPA, Florida (Ticker) -- The Tampa Bay Lightning acquired defenseman Janne Niskala from the Philadelphia Flyers on Monday in exchange for a sixth-round choice in the 2009 draft.

Niskala, 26, was acquired by Philadelphia last week from the Nashville Predators for forward Triston Grant and a seventh-round pick in the 2009 draft.

The defenseman had appeared in 80 games for the Predators' American Hockey League affiliate, the Milwaukee Admirals, last season scoring 19 goals and totaling 44 points.

Niskala was also the leading scorer among defensemen for bronze medal-winning Team Finland at the 2008 IIHF World Championships last May.
