PITTSBURGH (Ticker) -- The Pittsburgh Penguins continued their busy offseason Thursday, signing right wing Miroslav Satan to a one-year contract.

Financial terms were not disclosed, but TSN of Canada reported that the deal is worth $3.5 million.

The Penguins brought in Satan less than an hour after signing forward Ruslan Fedotenko to a one-year deal reportedly worth $2.5 million.

The additions of Satan and Fedotenko could help the Penguins overcome the loss of four-time All-Star Marian Hossa, who signed a one-year deal with the reigning Stanley Cup champion Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday.

Pittsburgh also signed goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury to a seven-year contract extension Thursday.

The deals took place one day after Pittsburgh locked up star center Evgeni Malkin to a five-year, $43.5 million contract extension and re-signed defenseman Brooks Orpik to a new six-year contract.

A two-time All-Star, the 33-year-old Satan scored 16 goals and 41 points in 80 games with the New York Islanders last season. The Slovakian has posted nine campaigns with at least 25 goals over his 12-year NHL career.

"Miroslav brings skill, experience and size to our hockey team," Penguins general manager Ray Shero said. "He is a player that has put up very good offensive numbers in the NHL.

"By playing with out core group of forwards, he should only be able to build upon those numbers and provide offense for our hockey club."

A fifth-round pick of Edmonton in 1993, Satan has collected 337 goals and 348 assists in 947 career games with the Oilers, Buffalo Sabres and Islanders.
