TORONTO (Ticker) -- After one season in his home state, Sean Hill apparently is on his way overseas.
According to a report by the CBC on Thursday, Hill has signed a one-year contract with Biel of the Swiss Hockey League.
A native of Duluth, Minnesota, Hill inked a one-year deal with the Minnesota Wild in July 2007 and recorded two goals, seven assists and 32 penalty minutes in 35 games with the club last season. The 38-year-old defenseman missed the first 19 contests of 2007-08 while serving the remainder of a 20-game suspension for abusing the NHL's performance-enhancing substance policy the previous campaign while with the New York Islanders.
An eighth-round pick of Montreal in 1988, Hill was a member of the Canadiens' Stanley Cup championship team in 1993. He has collected 62 goals, 236 assists and 1,008 penalty minutes in 876 career games with the Canadiens, Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, Ottawa Senators, Carolina Hurricanes, St. Louis Blues, Florida Panthers, Islanders and Wild.
Hill also represented the United States at the 1992 Winter Olympics.
