Wild D Burns undergoes surgery

PAUL, Minnesota (Ticker) -- Minnesota Wild defenseman Brent Burns underwent surgery on his left elbow on Thursday.Burns, a first-round pick of the Wild in 2003, is expected to return to action in four weeks. The Wild will open the regular season at home against the Boston Bruins on October 11.
Last season, the 23-year-old scored 15 goals and recorded 28 assists in 82 games for the Wild.
