DETROIT (Ticker) -- Chris Osgood turned away all 13 shots he faced and Henrik Zetterberg had a goal and an assist as the Detroit Red Wings topped the Atlanta Thrashers, 4-0, in a preseason contest Sunday.
Mikael Samuelsson scored a power-play goal and Jiri Hudler added a pair of assists for Detroit, which took advantage of a shot discrepancy of 38-14 to pick up its second win in four preseason games.
Facing just six shots through the first two periods, Osgood stopped all seven he saw in the third en route to his first win of the exhibition season.
The reigning Conn Smythe Trophy winner, Zetterberg helped set up Samuelsson's man-advantage goal that gave the Red Wings a 2-0 lead with 5:59 expired in the second period. The left wing extended that advantage nearly six minutes later, completing a 2-on-1 rush with a one-timer from the bottom of the right faceoff circle.
Rookie left wing Ville Leino opened the scoring 7:02 into the contest, knocking in a loose puck on a scramble in front of the goal.
