Penguins acquire C Zigomanis from Coyotes
Oct 9, 2008 - 8:40 PM PITTSBURGH (Ticker) -- The Pittsburgh Penguins acquired center Mike Zigomanis from the Phoenix Coyotes on Thursday in exchange for future considerations.Zigomanis split last season between the Coyotes and their American Hockey league affiliate, the San Antonio Rampage. He had two goals and one assist over 33 games with Phoenix. The year before, he posted 14 goals and nine assists while ranking seventh in the NHL with a faceoff percentage of 56.2 percent.
In corresponding move, the Penguins assigned center Jeff Taffe to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the AHL.
