PITTSBURGH (Ticker) -- The Pittsburgh Penguins must have liked what they saw from Joey Haddad.
After attending the team's training camp on a tryout basis, Haddad on Friday was signed to a three-year contract by the Penguins.
The left wing was assigned to Cape Breton of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League after inking the deal.
The 19-year-old Haddad appeared in 70 games with the Screaming Eagles last season, recording 31 goals, 31 assists and 103 penalty minutes. The 6-2, 189-pound native of Sydney, Nova Scotia has collected 43 tallies, 98 points and 254 penalty minutes in 186 contests over three seasons in the QMJHL with Prince Edward Island and Cape Breton.
