Wild place D Zidlicky on IR
Oct 15, 2008 - 5:57 PM ST. PAUL, Minnesota (Ticker) -- The Minnesota Wild on Wednesday placed defenseman Marek Zidlicky on injured reserve with an ankle injury.Zidlicky suffered the injury in an exhibition game against the Chicago Blackhawks on September 26, but the Wild waited nearly three weeks to put him on IR.
The Czech Republic native has been having trouble skating and did not play in Minnesota's first two regular-season contests.
To replace Zidlicky on the roster, the Wild recalled 20-year-old right wing Cal Clutterbuck from Houston of the American Hockey League.
The Ontario native played in 73 games with Houston last season in his first professional campaign, recording 11 goals and 13 assists. He also skated in two contests for the Wild without scoring.
