ST. LOUIS (Ticker) -- It remains unclear as to whether Pittsburgh Penguins superstar Sidney Crosby will suit up for Saturday's game against the St. Louis Blues.
The Pittsburgh captain is listed as day-to-day with an undisclosed injury, sustained during the second period of Thursday's 4-1 loss to the Phoenix Coyotes.
The Penguins and Crosby have been tight-lipped about the mysterious ailment, though Fox Sports Arizona television broadcasters reported that the 2006-07 Hart Trophy winner injured his ribs after being hit with a stick by a Phoenix player.
The 21-year-old center, considered the face of the NHL, returned for a pair of shifts in the final session Thursday before leaving permanently.
Crosby, who has three goals and 10 assists in 11 games this season, missed 29 games with a high-ankle sprain last season.
