Penguins C Crosby to play vs. Islanders
Nov 9, 2008 - 12:09 AM UNIONDALE, New York (Ticker) -- After participating in the optional morning skate, Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby was in the lineup for Saturday's game against the New York Islanders.Apparently still affected by the mysterious injury he suffered last week, Crosby left practice early on Friday - but declared himself fit to compete against the Islanders.
The 21-year-old superstar was injured in Pittsburgh's 4-1 loss at Phoenix on October 30 but did not miss either of the Penguins' next two contests.
The first overall pick in 2005 who won both the Hart and Art Ross Trophy in 2007, Crosby has recorded three goals and 13 assists in 13 games this season.
