Lightning claim LW Koci from Blues
Nov 21, 2008 - 12:29 AM TAMPA, Florida (Ticker) -- The Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday claimed left wing David Koci off waivers from the St. Louis Blues.Koci signed with the Lightning as a free agent this past summer but was claimed off waivers by the Blues on October 21 after notching four penalty minutes in one game with Tampa Bay. The 27-year-old native of Prague, Czech Republic recorded nine penalty minutes and a minus-2 rating in four contests with St. Louis.
A fifth-round pick of the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2000, the 6-6, 238-pound Koci has yet to register a point but has amassed 169 penalty minutes in 32 career games with the Chicago Blackhawks, Lightning and Blues.
