MONTREAL (Ticker) -- The Buffalo Sabres have seemingly snapped out of their funk, while the Montreal Canadiens appear heading into one.
After suffering a five-game losing streak, the Sabres hope to win for the third straight game when they visit the struggling Canadiens on Saturday.
Buffalo edged the surging Boston Bruins, 3-2, on Wednesday to snap its skid and then rallied for a 4-3 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday.
Montreal, meanwhile, has dropped three of four and was shut out for the first timein a 3-0 loss to the Washington Capitals on Friday.
After starting six straight contests, Carey Price was rested in favor of backup Jaroslav Halak, who made 27 saves.
The Canadiens will begin a season-long, seven-game homestand with this contest, followed by visits from the Atlanta Thrashers, New York Rangers, New Jersey Devils, Calgary Flames, Tampa Bay Lightning and Capitals.
Then after a trip to Carolina, the Canadiens will play host to the Philadelphia Flyers, Buffalo Sabres and Hurricanes before the NHL's Christmas break.
