Lightning RW St. Louis leaves game

Dec 14, 2008 - 4:59 AM OTTAWA (Ticker) -- Tampa Bay Lightning right wing Martin St. Louis left Saturday's 2-0 loss to the Ottawa Senators in the game's final minute after he inadvertently was kicked in the face by linesman Derek Amell.

St. Louis, who was bleeding, immediately skated to the bench and trainers placed a towel over his face as he was escorted to the locker room. St. Louis received a total of eight stitches across the bridge of the nose to close the wound.

"He got cut pretty hard on the eye," Tampa Bay interim coach Rick Tocchet said. "Pretty good gash."

The 33-year-old St. Louis has recorded 10 goals and 15 assists in 30 games this season for the Lightning, who fell to 1-8-2 in their last 11 games.
