Lightning recall D Wishart
Jan 4, 2009 - 12:34 AM TAMPA, Florida (Ticker) -- The Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday recalled defenseman Ty Wishart from Norfolk of the American Hockey League.The 20-year-old Wishart was brought up to compensate for the loss of fellow blue-liner Jamie Heward, who is sidelined with a concussion.
Drafted 16th overall by San Jose in 2006, Wishart was acquired in the July 4 trade that sent defensemen Dan Boyle and Brad Lukowich to the Sharks. The 6-4, 205-pounder has yet to make his NHL debut.
Born in Belleville, Ontario, Wishart has recorded one goal, two assists and 13 penalty minutes in 31 games with Norfolk this season.
