Penguins D Letang returns
Jan 15, 2009 - 4:54 AM PITTSBURGH (Ticker) -- Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Kris Letang left Wednesday's 6-3 loss to the Washington Capitals in the third period with an apparent leg injury but returned to action later in the session.Letang was struck in the leg by a hard slap shot by Washington veteran Sergei Fedorov and skated off the ice in obvious pain.
The 21-year-old Letang registered one shot on goal and 20 minutes, 23 seconds of ice time in the contest.
A native of Montreal, Letang has recorded one goal and 13 assists in 41 games this season. A third-round selection in the 2005 draft, he has collected nine tallies and 33 points in 111 contests over his three-year career with the Penguins.
