Penguins D Orpik returns in loss to Devils
Jan 31, 2009 - 6:20 AM NEWARK, New Jersey (Ticker) -- Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Brooks Orpik returned to the lineup for Friday's 4-3 overtime loss to the New Jersey Devils after missing three contests with a groin injury.The 28-year-old had not played since leaving in the second period of a 3-1 win over the Anaheim Ducks on January 16.
Orpik logged 18 minutes, 28 seconds of ice time and notched two penalty minutes as the Penguins dropped the opener of a three-game road trip.
Drafted 18th overall in 2000, Orpik has recorded two goals, 10 assists and 41 penalty minutes in 47 games this season. A native of San Francisco, the 6-2, 219-pounder has collected six tallies, 48 points and 433 penalty minutes in 344 contests with the Penguins over his six-year career.
