Penguins C Crosby out vs. Blackhawks
Feb 27, 2009 - 9:20 PM CHICAGO (Ticker) -- Pittsburgh Penguins All-Star center Sidney Crosby will miss a second straight game due to a sore groin.Crosby will sit out Friday's contest against the Chicago Blackhawks, but is hopeful to return sometime during the five-game road trip.
Crosby participated in the morning skate, but did not go full speed.
"It's way better than (earlier in the week)," Crosby told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. "I was kind of hoping I would be able to play tonight."
The league's second-leading scorer, Crosby suffered the injury during Sunday's 5-2 loss to the Washington Capitals.
Prior to this, Crosby had missed just one other game this season. That came against Anaheim on January 16, when he was out of the lineup due to an illness.
