Lightning recall D Quick, sign D Kinrade
Apr 9, 2009 - 10:18 PM TAMPA, Florida (Ticker) -- The Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday recalled defenseman Kevin Quick from Norfolk of the American Hockey League.Selected in the third round of the 2006 draft, the 21-year-old Quick has played in four games with the Lightning this season, his first in the NHL, averaging 13 minutes, 22 seconds of ice time with a plus-1 rating.
The 6-foot, 175-pound native of Buffalo has appeared in 49 games with Norfolk this campaign, recording a goal and nine points. Quick also notched two tallies and four assists in 18 contests with Augusta of the ECHL.
Tampa Bay on Thursday also signed blue-liner Geoff Kinrade to an amateur tryout agreement.
Kinrade, 23, recently completed his senior season at Michigan Tech, where he registered three goals and 13 assists in 38 games. The 6-foot, 207-pounder from Nelson, British Columbia went on to play for Norfolk, recording a goal and three assists in eight contests.
