Crew SC's Finlay named MLS Player of the Week
Apr 28, 2015 - 6:06 PM New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Columbus Crew SC forward Ethan Finlay was named MLS Player of the Week on Tuesday for the eighth week of the 2015 season.Finlay broke out in a big way for Crew SC on Saturday, notching his first career brace and tallying an assist to power Columbus to their dominating 4-1 home win over the Philadelphia Union.
The fourth-year pro opened his 2015 account in the 32nd minute, running onto a Waylon Francis cross in the center of the box and redirecting it inside the left post to give Crew SC a 2-0 lead. Finlay sealed the win for Columbus in the 73rd, racing onto Kei Kamara's through ball in the right side of the box and slotting a low shot inside the far post to give Crew SC their 4-1 advantage.
The MLS Player of the Week is selected each week of the regular season by a panel of journalists from the North American Soccer Reporters (NASR). The group consists of members of print, television, radio and online media.
