Crew M Schelotto honored

Nov 18, 2008 - 7:42 AM NEW YORK (Ticker) -- Columbus Crew midfielder Guillermo Barros Schelotto on Monday was voted Major League Soccer's MLS Cup Playoffs Player of the Week.

The Argentine notched two assists to lead the top-seeded Crew to a 2-1 triumph over the second-seeded Chicago Fire on Thursday in the Eastern Conference final.

With his team trailing, 1-0, Schelotto set up Chad Marshall, who headed the ball past goalkeeper Jon Busch and off the bottom of the crossbar.

Schelotto fended off defender Bakary Soumare and headed the ball back to his teammate Alejandro Moreno, who in turn fed Eddie Gaven. Gaven then buried a right-footed shot past Busch for the game-winning goal.
