WAS 0, CWS 4White Sox struck first in the bottom on the third inning. Tommy Pham hits a double to left field, allowing Braden Shewmake score. Korey Lee singled on the line drive to center field in the bottom of the sixth inning, scoring Andrew Benintendi and giving the Sox a 2-0 lead. Korey Lee went 3-for-3 with an RBI. Starting pitcher Garett Crochet was dominant again on the mound, tossing 5.0 innings and striking out 6 batters. Jared Shuster went 2.0 innings and Jordan Leasure went 1.0 innings, each with 1 strikeout. Michael Kopech slammed the door, earning the save while striking out 2 Nationals. The White Sox defeated the Washington Nationals, 2-0 at Guaranteed Rate Field in Chicago, Illinois on May 15, 2024. WAS 0, CWS 4After a loss in the first game, the White Sox evened the doubleheader with Erick Fedde on the mound for Game 2. Fedde went seven shutout innings with 6 strikeouts. Jordan Leasure and Michael Kopech came in for relief. In the bottom of the 3rd, Rafael Ortega reached first base on a bunt and stole second. Tommy Pham walked on a wild pitch ball four which advanced Ortega to third. Andrew Vaughn blasted a three-run home run to give the White Sox an early 3-0 lead. Tommy Pham ended the Nationals threat in the top of the 6th with a great sliding catch. He then led off the bottom of the sixth for the White Sox with a base hit to center. Andrew Vaughn added an insurance run with his second multihomer game of his career. The White Sox extended the lead 4-0 in the bottom of the eighth.
