St. John's vs. Florida State: The Florida State Seminoles lost a tough home game to St. John's, 93-79. Darin Green Jr. scored a career-high 30 points, hitting 8-11 three-pointers in the loss. Matthew Cleveland added 23 points and 13 rebounds for the 'Noles, who shot 58% from behind the arc in a losing effort.
SJU 93, FSU 79Syracuse vs. St John's: The Syracuse Orange lost a tough one in overtime to St John's 76-69 in the championship game of the Empire Classic. It was a back-and-forth game throughout and a defensive battle as neither team shot above 40% from the field. Andre Curbelo led all scorers with 23 points while Judah Mintz was the leading scorer for the Orange with 20 points. Jesse Edwards added 18 points on 6-8 shooting with 8 to go along with rebounds in the loss.
