Following Wake Forest's 83-79 upset over #8 Duke, Demon Deacon fans stormed the court in celebration. In the chaos of the moment, Duke star Kyle Filipowski was injured on the court and needed to be helped into the locker room. Filipowski claims the hit by Wake Forest fans was intentional.
While most of the country was busy celebrating Christmas, the AP released the latest poll on Monday and the Blue Devils are up to #16.

In Friday’s ACC Action, Clemson beat Queens, 109-79, Florida State knocked off Winthrop 67-61, Georgia Tech got by Hawaii 73-68 and Notre Dame topped Marist 60-56.

It’s really unfortunate that Dennis Rodman’s, uh, eccentricities have overshadowed one of his greatest assets as a basketball player: he was an unbelievably intelligent. We’re referring to Rodman the player not Rodman the oddball (see what we mean?) Yes there was the guy who did strange things with his hair and acted in generally flaky ways that often alienated fans.
As we have seen over the last few games, and especially against a tough Baylor team in the Garden, Duke is coalescing into a tough, smart and unselfish team that is really fun to watch.
Wednesday was a good night for the Triangle: Duke beat #10 Baylor in the Garden, 78-70, NC State knocked off Saint Louis 82-70 and UNC took out Oklahoma 81-69. Toss in Pitt, coached by former Duke guard Jeff Capel, beating Purdue Fort Wayne, which is probably the answer to some trivia question about being irrelevant, and the ACC had a good night all around.
