Quarterback Kyron Drones was amazing on the ground, running for 135 yards on 20 carries. Bhaysul Tuten added 78 yards on 16 carries with 3 scores on the day and Malachi Thomas rushed the ball 3 times for 38 yards and a touchdown. VT 48, BC 22Virginia Tech cornerback Dorian Strong helped get the Hokies off to a good start in their game at Boston College with 2 interceptions of Tommy Castellanos' passes in the first quarter. Strong jumped in front of Castellanos' pass on the first play of the game and then later in the quarter he made a great play on an underthrown ball by Castellanos to record interception number two.

He secured the Eagles fifth consecutive win with a seven yard touchdown run with 2:23 on the clock to defeat Syracuse. Castellanos finished the game completing 20 of 37 passes for 165 yards and a touchdown, plus he ran the ball 22 times for 87 yards and a score.

Castellanos threw the ball 37 times, completed 20 passes, picked up 165 yards through the air, a team-high 87 yards on the ground, and two total TDs. The Eagles held the Syracuse passing attack in check, grabbing 4 INTs and allowing only 37 yards. For the Orange, RB LeQuint Allen was the biggest factor on offense, as he picked up 142 yards on 18 carries.
