ORLANDO, Florida (Ticker) -- Shane Stafford threw a 23-yard touchdown pass to Chas Gessner with 22 seconds left to play to lift the Orlando Predators to a 50-45 victory over the Georgia Force on Saturday.
Stafford completed 20-of-28 passes for 278 yards and six touchdowns for the Predators (2-2). Gessner made just three catches for 48 yards but came up huge with the touchdown in the closing seconds.
Despite trailing by five points with just 22 seconds left, Chris Greisen nearly powered the Force to victory, connecting with Charles Pauley for an 18-yard gain.
However, officials ruled Pauley out of bounds at the 1-yard line and time expired before Georgia got the chance to run another play.
Greisen completed 24-of-46 passes for 287 yards and four touchdowns for the Force (1-3) but also threw an interception and fumbled once. Pauley led all receivers with 14 catches for 170 yards and three touchdowns.
