Defense lifts Soul into second round
Jun 30, 2007 - 4:02 AM PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- Tony Graziani passed for 198 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Philadelphia Soul into the second round of the playoffs with a 41-26 victory over the Orlando Predators on Friday.The Soul's defense held the Predators to just 216 yards of total offense and kept them out of the end zone in the second half.
Charles Pauley, J.J. McKelvey, and Jerrian James all had touchdown receptions for Philadelphia, which advanced to the divisional round for the second straight season.
Shane Stafford passed for 227 yards with two touchdowns and an interception, and Ron Johnson hauled in seven catches for 107 yards and a touchdown for Orlando, which converted just 1-of-9 on third down opportunities, and 1-of-4 on fourth down.
